Analysis of Preeceville Oil Seeps Confirms the Presence of Oil
WINNIPEG, Nov. 16 /CNW/ - Donald Benson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nordic Oil and Gas Ltd. (TSXV: NOG) ("Nordic" or, "the Company"), announced today that the laboratory analysis on the oil seeps discovered in Preeceville, Saskatchewan, Canada has confirmed the presence of oil in the first samples received. Analysis of additional samples is currently being completed and results from these tests are expected shortly.
Commenting on the analysis received to date, Paul Lafleur, P. Eng., President of Petro-Find Geochem Ltd., the company hired by Nordic to undertake hydrocarbon soil gas surveys in its two most northerly townships in Preeceville, and who made the discoveries of the oil seeps said: "It is my belief that all of the seeps encountered are from crude oil in a yet to be determined formation."
The initial samples from the Geo-Chem survey indicated the presence of methane, ethane and propane, along with a strong concentration of butane.
Looking ahead, Mr. Benson stated that the Company looks forward to receiving the complete results of the Geo-Chem survey and the further analysis of the oil seeps, "at which time we will be able to correlate this information with our existing seismic we have already completed over these lands.
"If necessary, a small seismic survey may also be required prior to the drilling of a well," he added.
